Back at PRS!

This two-hour session is for lovers of restorative practice and deep rest, and for anyone who senses the need for it, even if they’re not quite sure how to access it independently. A continuation of The Shape of Stillness, which was offered in the winter months, Emerge carries a sense of softening, warming, and gentle return. Held in mid-spring, this time naturally invites gradual unfolding—without urgency or force.

This offering may be especially supportive for those living with loss, navigating grief or transition, or feeling the need to move slowly and with care. The intention is not to arrive anywhere, but to create the conditions for something to emerge in its own time.
The practice will be slow and primarily floor-based, drawing from somatic movement and therapeutic yoga. Participants will work on yoga mats and blankets, mostly in supine and resting positions, with an emphasis on sensing, feeling, and listening. Movement will be minimal and responsive, allowing space to explore the physical and emotional body without pushing or trying to fix anything.

The session is guided as an embodied inquiry. Alongside supported movement, questions will be offered throughout—not for analysis, but for quiet noticing and reflection through sensation and experience. You’re welcome to engage with these prompts in your own way, at your own pace, letting the body lead rather than the mind.

We’ll explore small shifts of weight, subtle spirals, and simple transitions, with generous pauses and quiet time throughout. The focus is on internal awareness, listening, nervous system regulation, and meeting the body as it is.

This practice is open to all levels; no prior experience is needed. You’re invited to come exactly as you are. Please bring your yoga mat. Blankets will be provided.

There’s a seat for you right here!

The Breathing Room with .menechyan next meets on March 30th! We gather for a 90-minute session that includes guided meditation, gentle inquiry into what arises after the sit, and shared silence to cultivate stillness, integrate the experience, and bring our time together to a safe and grounded close. Each gathering is shaped by and responsive to the collective energy of the group. We hope to see you soon.

Anti-gravity chatarungas. You start in cobra with forehead down and you tuck your toes under, push heels back, raise the knees, then the upper legs off the floor, then the pelvis, the the chest and abdomen and keep the forehead down on the mat for the first version. Then do that again but raise the forehead off the floor. Then the third iteration, press your hands down and extend the arms to come to a plank. You’re welcome. I’ll likely not teach that for another 10 years.
