🚴♂️ What is the Idaho Stop Law? 🚦
Did you know that Idaho has a unique law for cyclists?
It changes how they interact with stop signs and red lights!
Known as the Idaho Stop Law, it was introduced back in 1982 and allows cyclists to treat stop signs as yield signs and red lights as stop signs.
This means cyclists can legally roll through a stop sign if the coast is clear or stop at a red light and proceed when it's safe, just like drivers turning right on red!
The Idaho Stop Law aims to:
- improve the flow of traffic
- enhance cyclist safety
- reduce unnecessary stops.
The law increases bicyclist visibility to drivers and reduces their exposure.
It also promotes safety in numbers by encouraging more people to bike, which reduces cyclists' overall risks.
The Idaho Stop Law is gaining traction across the U.S., with the following states adopting similar laws:
- Delaware
- Arkansas
- Oregon
- Washington
- Utah
- North Dakota
- Oklahoma
- Colorado
- Washington, DC
- Minnesota
- Alaska
What about California ? We should have that here too!

Do you know why the front wheel is smaller than the rear wheel?
The front wheel is smaller (20") compared to the rear wheel (26") on the CERO bike.
It's to enhance the bike's performance and functionality, especially in urban environments.
Here are a few key advantages:
Improved Maneuverability: A smaller front wheel makes the bike easier to steer, providing better control when navigating tight turns or busy streets, which is ideal for city riding.
Compact Design: With a smaller front wheel, the overall bike frame can be shorter and more compact, making it easier to store and handle. This is particularly useful for riders who live in apartments or have small garage.
Balance of Comfort and Stability: The larger rear wheel (26") helps to maintain ride comfort, offering more stability and better traction, especially when carrying heavy loads. The combination of a larger rear and smaller front wheel allows the bike to maintain a balance between agility and comfort.
Cargo Efficiency: The CERO bike is often designed for carrying cargo, and the smaller front wheel helps distribute the weight more efficiently while still leaving plenty of space for a large rear cargo rack.
This mix of wheel sizes optimizes the bike's versatility for commuting, carrying goods, and navigating urban spaces.
