☀️ High Desert Summer = Catfish Season! 🎣

Nothing beats beating the summer heat like heading down to the water and pulling up a absolute unit of a channel cat! 🏜️🐟
The sun is beaming, the water is warm, and the catfish are biting. When the high desert temperatures climb, these bottom-feeders get active. Whether you're fishing the rivers or hitting the local reservoirs at dusk, now is the prime time to get your lines in the water.
Shoutout to our community members out there putting in the work and landing beauties like this one! 👇
Quick Summer Catfishing Tips for the High Desert:
Go Deep or Go Night: During midday heat, look for deep holes or shady structures. Better yet, try night fishing when they move shallow to feed!
Follow the Scent: Punch bait, cut bait, or chicken liver work wonders when the water warms up.

Good morning New Mexico!
Check out this absolute brute of a brown trout landed by our very own pro-staffer, Zachary Rutter. Nothing beats the rush of fooling a wild, hard-fighting fish like this in our local moving waters, especially when the river is pushing high and fast.

Notice how thick this beauty is—perfectly healthy, beautifully spotted, and full of fight. But the best part of the whole video? That flawless release. Zachary slipping a magnificent predator like this back into the current ensures that the genetics stay in the river, the population stays strong, and another angler gets the thrill of a lifetime down the road.

Woodsmanship, patience, and respecting the resource—that’s what high desert outdoorsmen are all about. Incredible fish, Zach!
