Louisville’s beloved bikeshare program has served us well since 2016. After years of symbolizing sustainable, active transportation in our city, we are sorry to announce our closure on October 25, 2023. We have loved celebrating joyful micromobility with you and contributing to a cleaner, greener city. We are grateful to each of you who chose LouVelo for work, fun, or convenience.

LouVelo has been an essential part of our city's transportation network, promoting eco-friendly and accessible transportation options for residents and visitors alike. As the climate of our city has evolved significantly over the last three years, we have decided to step aside to make way for new micromobility opportunities that can better serve all our city’s residents, and bring new, exciting mobility technology to Louisville. We appreciate your support in this transition and count on your participation in making this new program a valued asset in our changing community.

Here are some key details about LouVelo’s closure:

· End Date: LouVelo officially closes on October 25, 2023. You may use this service until that time; bikes will no longer be accessible after 10/25.

· Bike Returns: If you currently have a LouVelo bike in your possession, we kindly request that you return it to one of our stations by October 25, 2023. This will help us account for and retrieve our bikes efficiently.

· Memberships & Ride Passes: To inquire about reimbursement of membership costs or ride passes, please contact Cyclehop Customer Service at: (502) 373-2500 or email [email protected] before October 31st.

· Bikeshare Updates: To keep up with Louisville’s upcoming bikeshare news, follow on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

Coming to Main Street this JUNE!

CycLouVia is Louisville's version of Colombia's ciclovía which temporarily closes streets to vehicles to allow cyclists and pedestrians to enjoy the open roads. This is your chance to experience Downtown in a new way - walking, biking, skating, or dancing down the street!

As part of this event, Louisville Metro is seeing artists or artist teams to facilitate an art activation during CycLouVia on Main Street to encourage community engagement with public art.
