NO LABOR, ALL DANCE

Labor Day is the holiday that celebrates work by telling you to stop doing it. We're happy to help with that part.
The three-day weekend starts Friday night at Bravo Dance Studio in Louisville: Waltz, Foxtrot, East Coast Swing, and Salsa from 8:00 to 9:30. It's a night for dancing rather than learning, so a few basics go a long way. Light refreshments, everyone welcome.

THE GROWN-UP RUMBA
Int/Adv Bolero 3-Class Course
Sundays, Sept 6, 13 & 20 | 5:30 PM | 50 min | $36 for all three
Bolero is the one that finds out whether you actually have technique or just momentum.
It's built on the rhythm you already know, then it takes the speed away and adds rise and fall, stretch, and long sweeping lines. There's no tempo to hide behind. Every bit of control you have shows, and so does every bit you don't. That's exactly why it's worth three Sundays.
Each week is all new figures and picks up precisely where the last one stopped. Week one gives you the material, week two builds on it, week three puts it together so it holds up on a social floor and not just in the corner where you drilled it.
Intermediate and advanced dancers, some experience required. Sundays, September 6, 13 and 20, 5:30 PM at Bravo Dance Studio in Louisville.

DISCO NEVER ACTUALLY DIED
Beginner Hustle Class
Wednesday, Sept 9 | 7:00 PM | 50 min | $12/person
Mention Hustle and people immediately picture a mirror ball, a white suit, and John Travolta pointing at the ceiling.
Fair. That's where it came from. But Hustle didn't stay in the seventies, and that's the part most people miss. It's a fast, spinning, endlessly adaptable partner dance that works on a huge range of modern music. If a song has a steady beat and some drive to it, you can Hustle to it. Pop, dance, club, most of what comes on at a wedding after 10 PM.
It also pays off fast. The turns are the fun part, and they show up early, which makes it one of the more rewarding dances to try on a first night.
One class, fifty minutes, Wednesday September 9 at 7:00 PM at Bravo Dance Studio in Louisville. Beginners welcome. No partner needed, since we rotate the room during class.

TWO LEFT FEET, ONE WEDDING
Every couple has a version of this conversation. One of you says "we should do something for the first dance." The other one says "I have two left feet." And then nobody brings it up again until the week before.
We'd like to interrupt that cycle.
The first dance is two minutes. Two. That is a very fixable amount of time, and we fix it the same way every time: your song, your comfort level, steps built for the two of you rather than borrowed from a video. Waltz, Rumba, Foxtrot, something contemporary, whatever the music wants. We handle the music editing when it needs it, and the parent dances too if those are on the list.
At Bravo Dance Studio and Louisville Wedding Dance, we work with every kind of couple. Bride and groom, bride and bride, groom and groom. Two left feet each, if that's what you're bringing.
