Good advice here, with one exception! Never push your back to the floor. Rather, you want to draw your and up and in to support legs lifted.

New Pilates for Hypermobility Class Coming in January!
Hypermobility is a connective tissue disorder that some experts estimate affects up to 20 percent of the population. Starting Sunday January 5 at 2 p.m., we will introduce a new group class designed to help clients across the hypermobility spectrum learn healthy movement patterns.
Led by Studio Owner Holly Holland, Pilates for Hypermobility will provide guidance to clients whose excessive flexibility can lead to pain, injury, coordination challenges, and autoimmune disorders. The class will employ techniques from Pilates for Neurological Conditions®, which tap into each client's brain to find the unique sensory strategies that help her/him to become more stable in movement.
Pilates for Hypermobility is designed for clients who are newer to Pilates or who have limited experience with Pilates equipment. The class will move at a deliberate pace and help clients modify exercises to provide greater stability and strength without losing the integrity of their joints.
Prerequisites: Prior to joining the class, all participants must complete at least one private assessment with Holly.
Holly Holland recently became the first Level 3 Neuro Studio Practitioner in Kentucky. The extensive training culminated in a year-long Advanced Practitioner Mentorship with Neuro Studio co-founders Meghann Koppele Duffy and Mariska Breland.
To provide greater assistance to clients with neurological conditions, Holly's Pilates Village recently purchased a Fuse Ladder, which is located on the first floor next to the CoreAlign units. The Fuse Ladder is an ideal tool for rehabilitation, but the equipment also can benefit athletes and others who are seeking greater range of movement and stability.
Notice the Fuse Ladder next time you are in the studio!
