Congratulations to the Monarch High School boys golf team on an impressive third-place finish at the 2026 Colorado 4A Boys Golf State Championship!

A special congratulations to Monarch junior Bode Truman, who claimed the individual state title with a 9-under-par finish, including a career-best 7-under-par 65 in the final round.

We're also proud to recognize Monarch golfer and Coal Creek Golf Course employee Jake Bradley, who earned a top-five individual finish.

Congratulations to the entire Monarch team on a great season!

Brayden Destefano was only focused on the Class 4A boys golf team title while Monarch's Bode Truman won individual gold.

A snapping turtle is back home at Coal Creek Golf Course after months of rehabilitation.

This turtle was found on the course injured and bleeding, with a significant injury near the shoulder where part of its shell was missing. It was then taken to the Colorado Reptile Humane Society where it received months of care and rehabilitation. A veterinarian even filled the missing portion of the shell with sterile beeswax, creating a protective barrier that allows the turtle to safely return to the water while the shell continues to heal. Once it was strong and stable enough, the turtle was released back into the waters at Coal Creek Golf Course.

And here’s a fun fact: Snapping turtle populations were once declining, but as golf courses in Colorado were built, they have provided habitat where their numbers have actually increased. These environments give snapping turtles access to water without some of the dangers they encounter elsewhere, including becoming tangled in fishing line or being hit by cars. For this turtle, the journey has come full circle, and the waters at Coal Creek Golf Course are home again.

Coal Creek hosted something pretty cool today. 75 amateur golfers of all ages from across Colorado teed it up in the final qualifying round for the 90th Colorado Golf Association (CGA) Amateur Qualifier. After today, only 7 qualifiers and 3 alternates will move on to compete in one of Colorado’s most prestigious amateur tournaments.

We loved having everyone out at Coal Creek today. Congrats to all who played, and best of luck to those moving on!

Parks and Recreation Month is a time to celebrate the places, programs, and experiences that bring communities together.

July is Parks and Recreation Month!

Parks and Recreation Month is a time to celebrate the places, programs, and experiences that bring communities together.

This year's National Recreation and Park Association theme, "The Power Of," recognizes the positive impact parks and recreation have on our daily lives. They support physical and mental well-being, create opportunities to learn and grow, protect natural spaces, and help build a stronger, more connected community.

In Louisville, that includes everything from neighborhood parks and playgrounds to miles of trails, open spaces, recreation programs, the Recreation & Senior Center, Coal Creek Golf Course, and community events. These are the places where children play, friends connect, families make memories, and neighbors come together.

This July, we invite you to get outside, try something new, visit a favorite park, or explore a trail. Discover the power of play, the power of connection, the power of nature, and the power of community and see how parks and recreation help make Louisville a place people love to call home.

Operation 36 Golf Academy is in full swing, and golfers are already making great progress this session.

What makes Operation 36 Golf Academy different? It works players backward from the hole instead of starting with long drives on the tee box. Golfers begin just 25 yards from the green at Level 1 and move farther back as their skills improve until they reach Level 6. It’s a fun, supportive way to build confidence and develop real on-course skills for junior and adult golfers alike.

Don't miss our next open house!

Louisville, what we heard from you is that 80% of golfers feel their core needs are being met, and that the driving range and other practice facilities matter most to you. You see an opportunity in enhancing food and beverage services at the restaurant.

Did we get it right?

Based on your feedback, we drafted this goal: Invest in facility and infrastructure improvements to support the course's long-term goals.

We’ve drafted goals based on what we heard. Join us to review, refine, and help prioritize them at Open House #2 on Thursday, March 12, from 12:30 to 2 p.m. or 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Louisville Recreation & Senior Center (900 West Via Appia).
