What a great day for tennis at the NTA Derby City Open held today at Petersburg Park! 🎾🏆

Today’s tournament featured some amazing junior players who brought great energy, effort, sportsmanship, and determination to the courts all day long. We are so proud of each participant and loved seeing the smiles as players celebrated with their trophies and medals.

A big thank you to everyone who came out to compete, support, volunteer, and help make the event a success. Special thanks to our tournament director, Leslie Graham for organizing a wonderful day of junior tennis and giving these young athletes an opportunity to compete and grow in the game.

We are beyond proud to celebrate our very own Charles Crawford, who has been selected for induction into the Black Tennis Hall of Fame – Class of 2026!

Coach Crawford’s decades of dedication, leadership, mentorship, and service to the game have made a lasting impact on our community and far beyond. He has helped shape generations of players, modeled excellence on and off the court, and strengthened the game in Louisville and beyond.

This honor is a powerful recognition of the work he has faithfully done for years, and it is so well deserved.

Congratulations, Coach Crawford! Your NTA family is incredibly proud of you. ❤️

We’re incredibly proud after the USTA Kentucky Awards Luncheon this past Saturday.

The Newburg Tennis Association received the Special Tennis Event of the Year award for the Charles Crawford Juneteenth Celebration Tournament. Charles accepted on behalf of NTA, representing a powerful event that brings history, community, and tennis together in the most meaningful way.

We’re also proud of our own Leslie Graham, recipient of the Bruce Stone Educational Merit Award, for his life-changing commitment to mentoring and education.

This is service. This is legacy. This is love for the game.
