Louisville Magic Field Hockey Club

We are deeply saddened by the decision to discontinue the KHSAA-sponsored state field hockey championship following the 2026–27 season.

While we understand the challenges facing field hockey in Kentucky, we believe this decision was premature. We are seeing firsthand the excitement around this sport and the athletes, families, coaches, and communities who continue to invest in its future.

At Louisville Magic, we believe in high-quality, consistent training at every level to maximize an athlete’s potential. We believe in the “why” just as much as the “how.” Our “why” is simple: for the love of the game. We want to bring excitement and joy to every event and create a lifelong passion for field hockey.

Our mission does not change.

We remain committed to supporting the growth of field hockey; not only in Louisville and Oldham County, but throughout Lexington and communities across Kentucky. We will continue working to create opportunities for athletes to play, develop, compete, and fall in love with this sport.

To every player, coach, parent, official, and supporter who has invested their time and heart into Kentucky field hockey: we see you, we appreciate you, and we stand with you.

We may be disappointed by this decision, but we are not discouraged about the future.

We believe in this sport. We believe in our athletes. And we believe there is so much more growth ahead.

Louisville Magic will continue doing our part to make that future a reality.

This weekend, our U14 and U16 athletes competed in the Regional Club Championship!

They showed grit, resilience, and courage in the face of adversity, continuing to learn and grow through every game.

We’re incredibly proud of the way they represented Louisville Magic this weekend. The growth is real, and the future is bright. Forever proud. 💚🖤
