NAOAGA Members had a blast at the 77th NAGA National Amputee & Adaptive Golf Championships at Hyland Golf Course in Southern Pines, NC this week!

Congratulations to Vince Biser taking home The Overall Adaptive Flight, Steve Shipuleski taking home the Adaptive Senior Flight, Jay James winning the Senior G5 Flight, Alan Gentry medaling in his flight as well as Jonathan Beard.

This years MWAGA Adaptive Open will have both a Gross and Net Division Champion in all of the Sport Classes. So what does this mean to one of our participants? Gross scoring is your score and the other participant players scores listed numerically, but the Net score is your score minus your USAGR Tournament Handicap Index (THI) an the same process for the other participant players scores listed numerically.

for example, Player 1 has a THI of 25.4 (26) and Player 2 has a THI of 6.8 (7). Player 1 shoots scores of 92 and 96 and Player 2 shoot scores of 78 and 80 for the weekend.

in the GROSS Division, Player 2 would have a combined score of 158 and Player 1 would have a combined score of 188. Player 2 would have the better score, but in the NET Division, Player 1 would have a combined score of 136 and Player 2 combined score would be 144, Player 1 would be the NET Champion.

Our golf outing will be held on September 13, 2026, at Four Season Golf Course in Landisville, PA. This year’s event is raising funds for Major Asay, who was the recipient of our 2026 Iron Leg Charity Football Game. We are honored to continue supporting Major and his family through our golf outing.

Major lost three limbs after an illness in 2025 that nearly took his life. Insurance does not always cover the advanced prosthetics children may need, especially when they want to participate in different activities and pursue the things they love. Iron Leg hosts events to help raise funds for advanced prosthetics, physical therapy, and other needs that may not be fully covered.
