Bellarmine Rugby

Our boys did a fantastic job this weekend, waking up early and using their Saturday mornings to perform some community service. Thanks to for doing some incredible work, and providing the team with an opportunity to do something bigger than rugby.

We encourage you to check out SOS and their mission to recover and sort wasted medical supplies, redistributing them to medically impoverished communities in 105 countries around the globe.

The Rugby team just finished up our last practice before opening the season this Saturday.
We’re hoping to get off to a fast start at our first tournament up in Hillsdale, MI. Games start at 12. @ Bellarmine University

This past weekend Bellarmine Rugby Club hosted its first annual Bellarmine Classic tournament. Bellarmine placed fourth and had a great time playing. Special thanks to all the teams who came out to play and to everyone who came out to support. Overall the tournament was a huge success and we look forward to doing it again in the future! @ Bellarmine University

A quick message from the team president on behalf of the team:

I have never been more proud to have been president of the Bellarmine Univeristy Rugby Club. We fought hard every game and learned so much. After hosting our first tournament, to say it was a success, would be an understatement.

Here are some facts:

On facebook alone in the week leading up to the tournament:
-The number of people our posts reached increased by 262%
-Enagements also increased by 425%

We had about 400 people throughout the day
- The attendence at one game alone reach almost 250 people

This is the single largest club sporting event in Bellarmine's history to our knowledge. But we are not stopping here, we are looking to double this in size next year.

I cannot express how thankful I am to the numerous people who helped me achieve this goal of creating, planning, and implementing this tournament, the athletes who played, the vendors who assisted us, and the fans who came out to support us. This is just another step for a club who has come so far in the past three years.
