Internal Medicine and Pediatrics Residency at the University of the Louisville
The University of Louisville School of Medicine has offered training in Combined Medicine/Pediatrics since 1987. We combine two exceptional parent departments with the University of Louisville categorical Internal Medicine and Pediatrics Residency Programs into an integrated residency. Both programs provide a wide range of clinical exposure, opportunities for research, and strong faculty.

Residents on our Med-Peds rotation helped kiddos living at Home of the Innocents with a puzzle painting activity this week. 🎨
We incorporate community engagement, advocacy, business of medicine, mentorship, transitions of care and some additional clinic time into this rotation. And lots of wellness + admin time!

We visited and volunteered at La Casita this block. As part of our annual Med-Peds rotation, our residents connect with community organizations. La Casita Center is doing so much to empower and enrich the Latinx community in Louisville, we loved learning about it. Then, we prepped diapers for an upcoming community resource day and met with their Director of Health Promotions. 🫶

Dr. Manley (Med-Peds clinic faculty) + Dr. Emily Brezler kicked off our clinic seminars with the ever-useful topic of constipation. They dropped practical knowledge bombs (like chocolate bombs!) and covered some things we do for no reason. You don’t wanna hear their p**p joke - it stunk!!! 💩

Our first crew of bakers! As part of our Med-Peds Rotation, we enjoyed time together baking for Ronald McDonald House. We had some truly monstrous creations! 👻 🧡 💜 🖤

MedFest! Our senior residents enjoyed a day of their Med-Peds rotation doing sports exams for Special Olympics athletes. We loved meeting all the athletes, spending time with our PMR + peds colleagues and just having fun!
