These NY Knicks are DIFFERENT! Tough as nails. The only thing in recent memory for me was over 20+ years ago when the Pistons beat up the mighty Lakers (Kobe, Shaq, GP, Karl Malone). Those Pistons turned it into a brawl & showed they were just the better team. These Knicks remind me of that agains the Spurs.
Wemby is clearly going to be THE face of NBA/World Basketball for the next 10-15 years but the Knicks are turning this into a bar fight. Brunson is the closest thing to Iverson we’ve seen in a small guard killer. I’ve never been a big KAT fan, but man he’s turned into an all out warrior on both ends vs Wemby.
But I just love all the pieces of this Knicks team, a complete team with amazing role players. OG, Hart, Bridges are some of the toughest defenders & play with heart. Sham, Jose, Robinson are dawgs who play their role extremely well. I picked Knicks in 6 to start thinking it might be a stretch. But now it looks like it could swing that way.
A few things for players to learn from this Knicks team:
✅ Master a role. Great teams have great role players. Become a star at your role.
✅ For my point guards, watch how physical Brunson is with the ball. He’s a bully. He always creates contact, hunts defenders body & never gets sped up beyond his pace.
✅ Watch how connected the Knicks defense is, they all rotate, talk & compete.

I love this drill, it turns the lightbulb on mentally for many players to slow down, make better decisions under pressure & beat pressure with the pass instead of the dribble. Here’s the rules:
🏀 Play 3v3 to start & build from there.
🏀 Offense on baseline & defense of FT like going full court. Coach passes ball to any offensive player & we start.
🏀 Offense CAN NOT run, must go walk. The goal is to force you to pass, make good decisions, play w pace.
🏀Defense is live from start and must trap to force a steal.
🏀 When ball crosses half court both teams are now live full speed.
