I do not know this coach but I support anyone who stands on morals and dignity for their sport and their players. I love the way the community that knew him rallied around him. Kudos coach for taking a stand

GHS BASEBALL COACH RESIGNS
With just over 40 days left before the start of the baseball season, Georgetown High School Baseball Coach Paul Paul Scheno has resigned.
GHS Principal Craig Stone and Athletic Director Ken Cribb confirmed the resignation for GAB News this afternoon.
Scheno was hired in July and had not yet formed his first team, nor had his first practice.
Neither Stone nor Cribb would give a reason why Scheno resigned.
Scheno has more than 30 years of teaching and coaching experience at multiple schools and levels of competition.
Before taking the job at GHS, he was
varsity assistant baseball coach at Chapin High School, where his teams captured numerous championships, including the AAAA state title in 2018.

Been watching and coaching basketball for a long time. One thing remains consistent... the team that practices harder and prepares for the little details will always win the game.

Welcome to 2026 and welcome to your new home for youth sports. Some of you are returning members but many will be new to our page so we want to say welcome and give a brief overview of what to expect. Between our more competitive Disciples basketball program and our recreational Wolves program we offer something for everyone.
Our practice schedule is just once per week and we offer additional group and individual training sessions to improve skills at your own pace. We feature league and local tournament play for our recreational teams while our competitive teams will have chances to travel as well as play locally.
For travel events, parents are required to attend and provide transportation and room for their player. We keep fees to a minimum by splitting the event fee among the active players at the time of the event rather than charging everyone a base fee in the beginning. Every travel event is optional but we must have a minimum of 10 players for a weekend event. We don't want to risk traveling out of town and having a player injured or deciding not to make the trip at the last minute. Thats alot to put on a team and we always want to put our best product on display.
League play is included in the registration fee but tournament play is not. Typically a tournament is a $25 fee if we have 10 players. Adjustments are made as necessary.

Calling all past, present, and future Disciples players. Our next open gym is January 2026. This is a great chance to reconnect with former teammates, to meet some of our current players, and also to bring someone new to the program.
The first round of signups for the 2026 team has begun. Focused now on getting ready for league play at Midamerica and then of course our return to FCO for the summer.
