Louisville football commit Ja’Hyde Brown is in Gainesville on a visit with the Florida Gators.

The Christian Academy of Louisville standout is currently ranked as the No. 32 overall prospect in the 2027 Rivals300, making him one of the top prospects in the country.

Brown has been having a phenomenal season, so continued interest from major programs is understandable. When you’re a player of his caliber, you have to expect programs to continue to show interest throughout the process.

Brown remains committed to Louisville.

Rest in peace to former Louisville men’s basketball assistant coach Larry Gay, who passed away at the age of 75.

A Wi******er, Kentucky native and standout at George Rogers Clark High School, Gay went on to play college basketball at Florida State, where he was a three-year letterman from 1971-74. He was a member of the Seminoles’ historic 1971-72 team that advanced all the way to the NCAA championship game, where Florida State fell to UCLA and John Wooden.

Gay eventually returned to Kentucky and became part of another storied college basketball program, spending seven seasons on Denny Crum’s staff at Louisville from 1989-96. During his time on the Cardinals’ bench, Louisville made six NCAA Tournament appearances, including a trip to the Sweet 16 in 1993.

From Wi******er to Florida State and eventually Louisville, Gay spent a significant portion of his life around the game of basketball and made an impact at every stop.

Our thoughts are with Coach Gay’s family, friends, former teammates, players and everyone whose life he touched.

Rick Kueber’s responses Saturday night are worth paying attention to.

Kueber isn’t simply another Louisville fan reacting on social media. The serial entrepreneur and co-founder of Glow Brands has been one of the more significant financial supporters of Louisville Athletics for years.

When one fan suggested Louisville had spent all of its money at quarterback and not enough on defense, Kueber responded:

“No, we spent plenty on defense.”

Then, when another fan argued that UofL simply doesn’t have the resources to compete at the top of college football in today’s landscape, Kueber’s response was even more direct:

“Bad take. Period.”

That carries a little more weight coming from someone who has been directly involved financially. The Kueber family and its businesses have contributed millions to Louisville Athletics over the years, including major facility investments, and Kueber has also been heavily involved in Louisville’s NIL efforts.

So after Louisville’s 2-3 start, the conversation around the program is getting interesting.

Is Louisville’s problem really a lack of resources, or is it what the program is getting out of those resources?

🚨🚨🚨Powerful message from Coach Jeff Brohm following Louisville’s 31-28 loss at NC State.

With the Cards now sitting at 2-3, Brohm put the responsibility squarely on himself and his coaching staff. His message was that there’s no running from where Louisville is right now. The coaches have to own it, evaluate what they’re doing and get back to work.

“We’ve got to look in the mirror, take the bullet to the head and go to work.”

It was a strong message of accountability from Brohm after another painful three-point loss.

Now comes the important part: How does Louisville respond?

Louisville’s defensive struggles continued Saturday in a 31-28 loss to NC State, dropping the Cards to 2-3 overall and 1-2 in ACC play.

Following the game, Jeff Brohm was asked about the state of his defense and made it clear that what Louisville has been doing isn’t good enough.

“We’ve got to make some changes and do some things to improve our defense.”

Brohm added that getting it corrected falls on him as the head coach. NC State finished with 493 yards of offense, including 373 through the air.

After another tough loss, what changes do you want to see Louisville make defensively?
