August is shaping up to be an exciting month for CIH!

We’re kicking things off with clinics in Montrose, Colorado, August 7–9, benefiting the Circle 3 Cowboy Fellowship-Montrose Youth Ranch Hand Camp. Proceeds from these clinics help provide local youth on Colorado’s Western Slope the opportunity to attend camp free of charge.

These clinics will also be a great opportunity to get some practice before the Summer Bash in Eagle, Colorado, August 22–23. CIH has partnered with WSTPA to continue growing the sport of ranch sorting on the Western Slope, helping make it possible to offer OVER $2,000 IN ADDED CASH AND PRIZES!

This year, the event will be held in the Grandstands Arena, with RV parking, horse stalls, and the arena all conveniently located close together.

Come enjoy the mountains, great friends, and good horses with us this August!

Justin Riley put together an impressive weekend of competition, congratulations to everyone! 

The Comin’ In Hot Spring Gather Sorting was an incredible kickoff to our season!

Here’s a quick look at the highlights:
• Over $16,900 paid out
• 392 first-round teams
• 6 new RSNC members

We also want to give a huge shoutout to the amazing crew who made it all possible:
Amy Hutchins and Charlie Drager for helping set up early, the Hoyt family and team for running the gates, Bailey Monnahan for doing a fantastic job judging, Savannah Rogers for keeping everything organized as secretary, Shannon Pitout and Troy for keeping cattle flowing smoothly, and Stevie Campanelli for keeping the show running strong as announcer and all-around right-hand man.

And of course, thank you to all the competitors—local and traveling—who showed up and made this event so special!

We can’t wait to see everyone again at the Comin’ In Hot Summer Bash this August in Eagle, Colorado. Big things are in store, including competing in the grandstands arena with the mountains as our backdrop!

We’re excited for a great show this weekend at the Mesa County Fairgrounds!

Please note that another event will be taking place in the other covered arena. To help ensure adequate parking for everyone:

Day haulers: Please park on the west side of the warm-up arena.
Trailer drop-offs & dry camping: These will be permitted west of the stall barn only.

Concessions will be available on the grounds near the office for your convenience.
