In 1988, after noticing that muscle strength increased throughout the body after sacroiliac stabilization, he began research into the underlying biomechanics. As a result, he found the need for products that were not in the marketplace, so he developed them himself. Now the Serola Sacroiliac Belt is being used to provide pain relief and help prevent injury to thousands of new people everyday throughout the world.

Before designing the gold-standard support belt, Dr. Rick faced his own severe battles with chronic pain following an intense martial arts injury—tearing ligaments from extreme stretching and struggling to find answers through traditional neurology, massage, and chiropractic care. That personal journey of trial, error, and deep anatomical research led him to sew the very first prototype on his wife's sewing machine.
