Hello! My name is Cheni Zimmerman I am a wsd alumni returning to teach and I’m so excited to start the year!

Im teaching tap this year and choreographing a few dances for the competition team

My favorite style of dance is contemporary and hip hop because they are constantly growing and changing genres, and encourage me to continue trying my best to push the boundaries of art

My favorite drink right now are any fun flavored red bulls I love trying the new flavors! And my favorite food is chocolate haha

People might be surprised to find out that I’m currently an active student at Texas tech studying studio art and am commuting back and forth to come teach!!

My favorite thing about teaching dance is creating a safe environment for students to learn how to connect to themselves and have a healthy outlet to express feelings that they might not fully understand. It’s important to have a space where you can put your worries aside for a moment and let go. I will always work my very hardest to be that safe space for my students.
