FAQ Friday 🏃♀️
Is there a time limit?
Sort of!
Official race services—including timing, aid stations, volunteers, and road closures—end 6 hours after the start.
If you’re still on the course after that, you can absolutely keep going. You’ll just need to continue on the sidewalks as roads reopen.
Whether you’re aiming for a Boston Qualifier or simply crossing your first marathon finish line, Baystate welcomes runners of all paces. 💙

❓FAQ: The marathon has reached its registration cap. What are my options?
Don’t panic—there are still ways to be part of Baystate! 👇
✅ Join the marathon waitlist. If a spot opens up, runners on the waitlist are offered available bibs on a first-come, first-served basis.
✅ Register for the Half Marathon. It’s still open and offers the same incredible race-day experience.
✅ Receive a bib transfer from another runner. If you go this route, please remember that any payment between runners is a private transaction. Baystate is not involved in the exchange of funds, so be cautious and watch out for scammers.
As a nonprofit organization, we do not allow deferrals or cancellations.

❓FAQ: Why can’t I defer my entry or cancel for a refund?
As a nonprofit organization, we are required to provide services within the same fiscal year that registration funds are collected.
When you register, your entry helps us plan and fund race operations, permits, safety services, race materials, and other event expenses. Because of these financial and legal requirements, we are unable to offer deferrals or refunds.
We understand that plans can change, and we appreciate your support and understanding. Your registration helps us continue providing quality events and supporting our mission year after year. ❤️🏃♀️🏃♂️
