Burrell Bulldogs Post 868 18U lost to Claysburg Legion Post 522 4-3 on Monday.

Claysburg Legion Post 522 were the first to get on the board in the first when Dustin Slowik singled, scoring one run.

Claysburg Legion Post 522 committed an error, which helped Burrell Bulldogs Post 868 18U tie the game at one in the top of the second.

Claysburg Legion Post 522 captured the lead, 3-1, in the bottom of the fifth after Dustin Slowik singled down the left field line, and Mason Sparks singled to center field, each scoring one run.

Burrell Bulldogs Post 868 18U fell to Latrobe Jethawks Post 515 3-2 on Saturday on the final play of the game. Latrobe Jethawks Post 515 were down 2-1 in the bottom of the seventh inning when Mason Fridley singled, scoring two runs.

Lost a tough one 3 to 2 vs undefeated Latrobe. Stings to lose one when you felt you were the better team but it feels good going into game 2 knowing they probably aren't nearly as excited about playing us as they were before game 1.

Game 2 tomorrow morning 10:30am

The Bulldogs look to bounce back and force game 3. Nick Virag will get the start on the mound with Brayden Mell and Adam Wass waiting in the wings.

The Lower Burrell American Legion baseball team has hit its stride. The Post 868 Bulldogs, the No. 5 seed for the District 31 playoffs, completed a two-game sweep of No. 4 Unity on Wednesday at ABC Fields in Lower Burrell. They pounded out 12 hits and scored an 8-1 victory
