Can you relate to any of this?
"My journey into cat grooming started 7 years ago, when I gave my cat my very first lion cut. She was matted, I saw a problem that needed to be fixed, and something clicked. I had always known I wanted to work with animals, I just never knew where I belonged.
Before NCGI, much of what I knew came from groomers I had worked under, some showed me what a groomer should be, while others showed me what one should never be. The Complete Cat Groomer Training Syllabus gave me the feline-specific foundation and the direction I had been searching for. It changed how I understand cats, approach handling, communicate with clients, and make decisions based on the individual cat rather than simply a finished groom.
I’m especially grateful to Lynn Paolillo for giving me someone to aspire to be. Mercedes Schenk for showing me that house-call grooming is career worthy, Danelle German for teaching me I could do anything I worked hard for, Melissa Hall for continually supporting me, Elizabeth Farmer for transforming how I work with clients, and Sandi Smith for teaching me to slow down, breathe and take my time.
In October 2027, I plan to travel from British Columbia, Canada to Arizona for PPI and certification with Melissa. Certification will never be “just a piece of paper.” To me it represents the education, discipline and standards behind the work I intend to dedicate my life to: being a cat groomer."
