With a brisk 43° at sunrise this morning, it sure feels like winter is right on schedule here in West Texas!
What a year we’ve been blessed with. Timely spring rains provided excellent planting conditions, and continued moisture throughout the growing season has produced an exceptional grain crop across West Texas. Strong stands and well developed grain heads have provided us with an abundance of food! To top it off, the Lord has blessed us with tremendous rainfall the last few months, replenishing soil moisture and filling playa lakes across the region.
With an incredible grain crop, abundant surface water, and cooler temperatures beginning to settle in, the ingredients are there for one heck of a waterfowl season.
