Pennsylvania sure knows how to show off during golden hour. From the old church overlooking the cemetery to the glowing cornfields, peaceful farms, and those adorable cow babies, every picture seems to capture a different piece of country beauty. The golden sunlight made the entire landscape look like a painting.

The fire sky in Pennsylvania really hits differently after leaving the mountains of Tennessee. It may be the same sun, but it carries a completely different vibe across this phenomenal landscape. Absolutely breathtaking.

The first rays of dawn burst through the clouds, igniting the mist with gold and pulling back the sky like a curtain to reveal the Smokies in all their breathtaking glory.

As those curtains unfold, the mountains rise from the mist, the streams begin their journey through the valleys, and the rivers carry the beauty of these ancient hills downstream. Every beam of light seems to reveal another piece of God’s masterpiece.

It is truly amazing to watch the Smokies wake up. Some mornings do not need words. You simply stop, take it all in, and feel grateful to be standing there when the curtains open.

Sailor and I took a walk down the beautiful Tremont stream today and were having a wonderful time. As we headed to another location to take more photos, we suddenly came across a mama bear and her cub!

It was such a cool and unforgettable experience. I was incredibly proud of Sailor. He was curious, but he stayed calm and never got worked up. And I have to admit, that mama bear and her little cub were so damn cute!

What a great day with my buddy Gerald, who drove up from Tampa while on his hunting vacation to spend the day with me here in Townsend!

We rode through Cades Cove, took Parsons Branch Road out to the Tail of the Dragon, and enjoyed a wonderful lunch at the Tapoco Lodge in Graham County, North Carolina. Afterward, we cruised back along the Foothills Parkway to Big Meadow Campground.

All in all, it was about seven hours of trail riding, sightseeing, mountain streams, winding rivers, good food, and even better conversation. Days like this are what a trip to the Smoky Mountains is all about!

While enjoying our trip through the Tennessee mountains and making our way north toward Pennsylvania, we stopped at Iron Mountain Sporting Clays in Kodak. We had a great time shooting sporting clays, and I finally got to try out a new Benelli shotgun. That sweet gun has officially earned a spot on my Christmas list!

Traveling 5000 miles to Pennsylvania, our route is going through Tampa, Georgia, Tennessee, Cook Forest, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, South Carolina, and back to Tampa, with bear trails observed midway through the trip.
