Happy Hump Day morning! I lift weights four days a week, but Wednesdays have become my day to target my flexibility and mobility. If youβre lifting (or spinning, or walking, or running) it is imperative that you incorporate mobility work to aid in recovery, injury prevention, and overall well-being. I havenβt played around with this entrance into headstand in a whileβfelt odd, but good knowing my core is still strong and controlled πͺπΎ I am recognizing the importance of core strength as it relates to balance and stability as we age. I donβt care much about visible abs anymore, but maintaining strength is vital! Do you have to do headstands? Absolutely not! There are numerous ways to work your core in a way that will keep you functional and independent as you get older. Find what works for YOU!βπΎππ

Happy Thursday, everyone! Most people think of loosening up tight hamstrings and hips, or relieving back or shoulder pain when they consider the benefits of yoga. An area often neglected are our feet and ankles. Working on foot snd ankle mobility is important for stability snd injury prevention. This mini flow leading to can be challenging, especially if you work this area infrequently. Start by sitting in the posture for 5 seconds at a time, gradually (over MUCH time) working towards a full minute. Canβt sit back on your heels? No worries! Use a folded blanket or pillow under your knees and between your calves and hamstrings/glutes, then ease in! βπΎππ
