Functional movements are pushing, pulling, squatting, lifting and running. In a 4,300 square foot space we have plenty of room to perform all of these movements. What does that mean? Well.. at i1uvit you won't see any elliptical machines or treadmills, and if you want to look at yourself in the mirror you will have to go to the bathroom. i1uvit is built for people that want to use their body's, the focus is on the movement and desire to gain strength both physically and mentally. The reflection we want from the mirror becomes a result of the sentence you just read. At i1uvit you will use equipment like pull up bars, rowers, barbells, kettle bells and plenty of wide open space for running, jumping, squatting, lifting, climbing and throwing- moving your body and using each joint the way it is meant to be used. These movements are put in place to prepare you for anything you may have to do in everyday life and sport. The workouts are taught by a CrossFit Trained Coach and performed in a class, a group of people from your community. The programming is designed to improve capacity in each of these fitness domains: cardio-respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance and accuracy. Each day the programming is prepared for you and it is constantly varied so you will never get bored. Rarely do workouts last longer than 45 minutes, you are in and out of the gym in less than an hour. How fit do i have to be to start CrossFit? You just have to show up, CrossFit is prepared for everyone. The workouts are scaleable so I could have the fittest man alive and the middle aged woman that hasn't broken a sweat in months in the same class doing the same workout. CrossFit seems to bring about a spirit of encouragement, growth and strength in community. We want to build a family atmosphere overcoming resistance together.
