As we enter the grand finale of the 2026 season I reached out to Capt. Lenny Vaughan https://www.slipknotcharters.com/ for a Lake Michigan fishing update. Pier Head fishing for King Salmon with Silver Horde plugs is at its peak.

His quick reply “We just boated this one”. Then another picture arrived. A picture speaks a thousand words!

Here's Saturdays catch... came off Kingston, 55' on the rigger. Green Double Glow Spatter Back Hoochie for the win!

After filleting the fish Friday night, I quickly froze a piece for a snack idea while watching football on Sunday – Salmon Poke’. Very simple to put together: I cut and baked some tortilla’s that I brushed with Sesame Seed Oil and seasoned with Sea salt. Mixed the diced salmon with Sesame Seed Oil, Avocado, Scallions then sprinkled with white and black toasted sesame seeds.

I Gourmet Fishing – from Sea to Plate.
