2026 WIAA Individual State Day 2/3 Recap-
At 106lbs, Phoenix Coughlin started out Friday morning with a 10-2 major decision win before falling to the 3 seed in the consolation quarterfinals.

At 120lbs, Rusty Hamilton finished in 4th place after losing a hard fought battle against the eventual state champion in the semifinal match. This is the highest finish for a South Milwaukee wrestler since 2010.

We could not be more proud of these two wrestlers this weekend.

Another fantastic season with a great group of student athletes is in the books. Thank you all for your support, we can’t wait for next year.

2026 WIAA Individual State Day 1 Recap-
At 106lbs, Phoenix Coughlin lost a tough match against the 5 seed. He’ll be battling back tomorrow morning at 10:00am.

At 120lbs, Rusty Hamilton won his first match 17-7. Rusty then beat the 5 seed in the quarterfinals 10-4. Rusty will be wrestling in the state semifinals tomorrow night at 7:00pm!! His quarterfinal victory was also his 150th career win!

An amazing day for Rocket wrestling!

Rusty Hamilton punched his ticket to Madison and takes home the 120 pound sectional championship this past weekend at the Greenfield Sectional tournament!! This will be his second appearance in the State tournament coming up in two weeks. Great job Rusty and good luck at state!!
