Wisconsin Hoofers Outing Club

Lots of love to every Hoofer Outing member out there! It has been a fantastic year filled with dozens of events that made hundreds of exciting memories 🫶 Thank you to everyone who participated in or led trips this past year, you are all what makes this club special!

With help from our wonderful conservation chair, Ana Gracia, we now have some chainsaw certified legends beefing up the ranks of Hoofer Outing 🔥 (other clubs be warned)

Earthfest starts this weekend!! 🌏🌱 We will be tabling in the Chazen lobby on Saturday and Sunday afternoon. Stop by for free stickers and to explore awesome programming from the !

Not actually, but we are working hard doing conservation work and prescribed burns at Wild Oaks!

A spectacular road trip went forth into the western dawn this winter break 🌅 14 days of sledding in White Sands, seeing the ocotillos bloom in Saguaro, relaxing at Newport Beach, walking through water in Death Valley, and watching the sun set over the Grand Canyon

The annual Delta Lodge trip was a huge success this year!! (Minus all the falling…legend has it they never made it up out of the snow). This winter break these hoofers went skiing and snowshoeing in northern Wisconsin for some chill(y) times before the start of this semester ☃️

The is hosting Tales From Planet Earth: Wild & Scenic 2025 Rewind at the Marquee theater in Union South! Stop by on Monday, 2/9 from 6:30-8:30pm to see amazing short films about the outdoors. 🎬🚣‍♀️🌲

Everyday is a great day day to learn how to Nordic Ski with Hoofer Outing and Outdoor UW!

How has Hoofers Outing Club impacted you? Through Hoofer’s, I’ve been lucky to meet so many cool and kind people! I’ve made great friends, reconnected with my passion for exploring the outdoors, and learned so much from others.

Advice for other leaders: Be daring! If there’s a trip you want to see happen, make it happen. Western Dawn wouldn’t have happened if I wrote off either road trips or winter break trips as impossible.
Fun Fact! According to my trip reports, I have committed 38 federal crimes while on Hoofers trip. [note to future employers: this is a joke!]

We have three new WFR’s in the Hoofers house! After an online class and week on hands on training, Ana Gracia, Tony, and Kiersten are officially Wilderness First Responder certified. Congratulations to these Hoofers!
