First ignite and supercomp races of the year are in the books! Amazing weekend by these two.

The Saturday before last was Ignite race one. Consistent lap times throughout the day. Dylan qualified 11th and Emily qualified 9th for the final. Emily lost a couple positions first thing but gained them back before the end and finished off the day in 9th. Dylan on the other hand gained a couple spots and finished off the day just ahead of Emily in 8th.
This past Saturday was Supercomp race 1 and 2. Double feature made for a long day. Very consistent and fast lap times by both drivers in all 3 practices. In the first final The Twins claimed the front row with times of 35.448 by Emily that got her her first pole and 35.449 by Dylan for 2nd. Almost an exact same time. At the start Emily lost the lead for half the race by Dylan but she ran him down and ended up getting her first ever win! Dylan had a good fight but sadly got caught up with a couple other drivers that landed him a 4th place finish.
For race #2 emily gained the pole again with Dylan starting 3rd! Emily got a great start and kept the lead all the way to the end gaining her her second win of the day! It was just not Dylan’s day after putting up a good fight but ending up with 4th in the end. We couldn’t be happier by these guys efforts! On to the next one 🏁

Been a long off season but the 2020 race season will be finally be underway tomorrow! 🏁🏁

Dylan and Emily has their last race of the 2019 season this past Saturday. They were pretty consistent the whole day, staying around top 7 for the practices. They once again claimed a row for the final with Dylan starting p5 and Emily starting p6. Emily got a very good start and immediately picked up two spots and held 4th for the whole race. She lost a spot on the last lap and finished off the year with a 5th/14 place finish. Dylan on the other hand sadly got shuffled back a bit on the start. He finished off the year with a 7th/14 finish. All in all the twins had a pretty good year. We all definitely learned a lot and are ready to come back even stronger and better next year. Thank you everyone for all the support!

The twins had the last Supercomp double header race of the year this past Sunday. Very slick and wet track to the start of the day but once it dried up it was pretty fast. In the first final Emily got rear ended and spun into a barrier and ended the final in 10/10. Dylan on the other hand finished 5/10. In the second final everything was going smooth up until the last lap, Emily was holding 6th and Dylan was fighting 2 other drivers for 3rd. Then a last lap wreck took Dylan and one driver fighting for 3rd out and he finished 7th/9. Emily got by the wreck and while picking up 2 positions and finished 4th/9. After the race 3rd place got disqualified placing Emily 3rd/9.

Last Saturday Emily and Dylan raced a huge field with over 30 entries. One of the biggest races this year. They were both pretty fast in all 3 practices and qualified 7th and 8th for the first race (there for claiming the 4th row as the ellsworth row 😜). They both got top 5s with Dylan finishing 2nd and Emily finishing 5th! Emily’s fastest time from race one had her starting 17th for race 2 and Dylan started 5th. Dylan finished race 2 with another top 3 finish in 3rd and Emily nearly got a top 10 finish and placed 12th. The last 2 races of the Ignite series are on October 26th 🏁🏁🏁 Awesome photos of the race from Mark Schwigen below!

Last night was race #7 in the ignite series at Gateway Kartplex. Unfortunately Dylan couldn’t catch a break all day. He started 16 in the prefinal and worked his way up to 12, which is where He starts in the final. On lap one of the final he gets caught in the wreck and drops to the back of the field with kart damage. He finished the day off in 15th/22. Emily however had her best race of the season. She started 4th in the prefinal but fell back to 6th place which is where she starts in the final. At the start of the final she drops back to 7th place and stays there for a portion of the race. Then 2 karts in front of her briefly get hooked and she makes up 2 positions. She caught up to p4 but gets stuck there. He was slow enough to hinder her but fast enough to keep his spot. She ended the day in her best finish this year 5th/22. Top 3 not too far now!

Next race: September 7th 🏁🏁

The twins raced the annual oval layout at the Kartplex this past Saturday. It was a nice change up that they enjoy but pretty tough to pass on. Dylan started P6/14 and ended up finishing P5/14. Emily started P5/14 and finished P7/14. Not too shabby of a finish from these guys. They were anywhere from hundredths to 2 tenths off of the front runners. Next races are July 20th and 21st on the backwards layout.

Emily and Dylan had a pretty great Supercomp double feature race this past Saturday night. They were both fast all day. Emily was even 2nd fastest in second practice being only 1 hundredth off of the fastest driver! In the first feature Dylan started 5th/8 and Emily started 4th/8. Dylan gained one position and finished 4th. Emily gained one position in the started and was in 3rd for a while when she got hooked to another driver which resulted in a flat tire and a dnf. In the second feature Emily started 3rd/8 and Dylan started 4th/8. Dylan gained one position and finished 3rd! Emily lost a few positions on the started and finished 6th. When we looked back at the times from the second feature Emily was 4th fastest being only 4 hundredths off of the third fastest driver and 1 tenth off of 1st and 2nd! All in all we are pretty happy with how it went, even though both drivers didn’t get on the podium. Next race will be the annual oval layout a couple weeks from now on the 29th. Will be pretty fun and exciting 🏁🏁

Dylan and Emily had a double header on the backwards layout this past Saturday. In the first race Dylan started 4th and finished 9th/19 and Emily started 18th and finished 14th/19. In the second race Dylan started 8th and finished 6th/19 and Emily started 16th and finished 11th/19. It could have been better but it also could have been a lot worse. Everyone was within hundreds of each other. Qualifying is key and that is something Emily struggled with all day. Something to work on 😉

Next race is a night race on June 15th, practice begins at 3pm-4pm! spectating is always free so if you have nothing to do come on out to watch some great racing!
