☀As summer classes approach, we're thinking about our goals, how will we grow this summer, and how can we learn the most from our instructors?

Why is summer dance so important? Summer is a great time to get focused on technique. Dancers have the opportunity to invest more energy and attention on class material (sometimes 8 hours a day!) and how they approach it. They explore a variety of dance styles from teachers they know and guest instructors from around the world. What lessons can we learn from dancers of different backgrounds? What do we take away in order to shape our artistic identity?

It's all about the approach. Take notes, be open, come prepared, get ready to move. What will your summer look like?

Summer Teen/Adult Classes- Ballet & Jazz

Are you looking to try something new this summer? Want to get in a good workout while dancing with a friend or meeting new people? Join us for our 5 week courses in dance! We have classes open to ages 13 and up. There are options in BEGINNER and INTERMEDIATE, whether you are completely new to dance or need a refresher, there's options for everyone! Hurry! Some of our classes are almost at capacity!

Beginning Adult Ballet (open to ages 13+): Monday nights
Intermediate Adult Ballet (open to ages 13+): Thursday nights
Beginning Adult Jazz (open to ages 13+): Monday nights

You do NOT have to be a registered student with Monona Academy of Dance during the academic year to attend our summer programming. All classes take place at our S. Stoughton Rd. location.

Hip Hop I & Hip Hop II

Get moving and grooving on Mondays this summer! We have the perfect hip hop class for you! Join us for an introduction into the basics of hip hop, or a deeper dive into vocabulary and musicality. Join us for a fun, high energy time! Dancers DO NOT need prior experience to take these classes!

Hip Hop I: dancers ages 5-7
Hip Hop II: dancers 8-10 with previous experience, 11-12 yr olds new to hip hop

🎵Intro to Lyrical

Let the music move you in Intro to Lyrical! Does your 8-12 yr old love to move to their favorite songs at home? This class will introduce basic steps used in Lyrical (a mixture of ballet and jazz) and then teach them a combination to popular music of today! Open to ages 8-12, no prior experience required!

🍎🎒It's Elementary

Let's start at the very beginning...a very good place to start! The perfect place to introduce a 5-7yr old to the basics of ballet, tap, and hip hop! It's Elementary is an hour long class that covers a little bit of each dance style each week, allowing your dancer to explore and find out what type of dance they enjoy the most! Sign-up quick! This is one of our most popular summer classes! Proper footwear required, tap shoes available to borrow.

🎥4K Movie Moves

Does your 3-4yr old love moving and have a new obsession with the latest kids movies? We have a class for you! Introduce your child to basic ballet vocabulary while they dance to the soundtracks of their favorite films! By the end of the session, dancers will share what they’ve learned with family! Classes take place at our S. Stoughton Rd. location.

After a sucessful run as one of our most popular evening classes last summer, we have added a night! 4K Movie Moves runs for 5 weeks on Mondays and Tuesdays from 5:30-6:00pm.
