Happy June!

We're excited for an absolutely month filled with adventure, joy, and of course pride. See you at some of these amazing events, and happy bike week!!!!!!

It's Pride Month!

This month is incredibly important to us, especially as the world continues to see increasing assaults on civil rights, gender affirming care, equity and acceptance

You are incredibly important to us.

Our community thrives when you are a part of it.

Our rides are explicitly inclusive and welcoming places. You are safe here, be your wonderful full self. If you're not able to be out, you are still valid.

We will fight for you, we will fight together.

Our strength is in our diversity.

Lastly, our rides are a place for joy, not a place for transphobes, homophobes, or bigots.

Memorial Day weekend is fast approaching, and that means our first Westside Love ride of the season!

This Saturday, May 23rd we'll be doing a little 19 mile ramble around some great spots on the west side of Madison, ending at the amazing (and deliciously famous) !!!

Specific info:

Where: start at Allen St Cafe (11 N Allen St.), end is at Breese Stevens field for Vegan Sausage Fest. If you drove to the start you'll need to make your own way back to Allen St.

When: Roll out sharply at 10am, come early to get some delicious coffee

What: 19 miles, any bike will do, 99 percent paved, a little grass riding through a park, and maybe riding over a curb is the only offroad
Route is here:
https://ridewithgps.com/routes/55227384

Why: because the Westside is a beautiful place to explore, and a great way to get hungry for amazing vegan food!

Please see the images for some info about the event, bring a helmet, a bike lock, a flat kit, and probably cash (some vendors may do cashless, but not guaranteed)

Hope to see some smiling faces and awesome bikes to enjoy the day and support a bunch of local small businesses and eat amazing food!

Reminder, tonight is our first Mad Town Mondays long ride of the season is tonight!

We'll be doing a leisurely 30 miler, which follows our McFarland 18 route up to Lake Farm County Park. At that point, riders can choose their own adventure and either roll back downtown via that regular route, or follow the Cap City trail west and up through the Arboretum and over to for post ride relaxation!

Route is located here (or see our story about it for a direct link) :

Hey friends, we've been notified by an awesome rider that this opportunity for input on adding bike infrastructure to the future plans for an Amtrak Rail line into Madison is due tonight, so take a few minutes, hit the link, and encourage adding a bike path out to Sun Prairie when they add the rail line! This would be tremendous for adding additional access to parts of the metro area as they get built!

Hit the link and give your input before midnight tonight (Friday May 15th)!

Hey y'all! Small update to the calendar for the month!

Forgot about the holiday at the end of the month when creating the plan for the Monday rides (😅). The monthly FTWNB ride has been moved to Saturday the 30th and in its place we will have a morning ride that starts with Coffee, has a chill arb loop in the middle, ending with ice cream. Check the calendar for details, as well as other rides we have going on at the end of May!
