Madison English Country Dancers

Dear dancers,

I am reaching out today to share information about a very special event that you might appreciate. This weekend is the annual Folk Ball (January 23 - 25) which is always a wonderful event with amazing bands, talented dance leaders, and joyful dancers from all around the country (and the world).

This year the event will be even more special with the addition of an English Country dance workshop which takes place on Saturday, January 24th from 1:00 - 3:00 pm in the Great Hall of the Memorial Union. Mady Newfield will be teaching and calling the English Country dances. Beautiful, live ECD music will be provided by Rare Privilege (Amy McFarland, piano and Maria Torres, violin).

Here are some pics and videos from our wonderful Afternoon Tea and Dance at the Will-Mar Neighborhood Center held on November 10th. We had a total of 41 people attend this event and we had a great time! We were treated to live music by Rare Privilege (Amy McFarland, piano and Maria Terres, violin). Mady Newfield from Chicago came up to call for the dance. We had dancers who were returning to English Country dancings, others who were brand new to ECD, as well a many ECD enthusiasts! We plan to do more of this in the future so stay tuned.

The Madison English Country Dancers are hosting a very special dance on Sunday, November 10th. This will be an Afternoon Tea and Dance at the Will-Mar Neighborhood Center in Madison, WI. The dance is from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm with a break for tea and delicious treats. There is also a beginner-friendly lesson from 1:30 pm - 2:00 pm so don't be shy in coming out to join us. Just look at the amazing talent that we have lined up! We will be dancing to the beautiful, inspired music of Rare Privilege (Amy McFarland, piano and Maria Terres, Violin). Mady Newfield will be coming up from Chicago to teach and call the dances. She is sure to engage dancers with her warm, friendly style and her love of English Country dancing. Come join us for this event!
