What a day at the State Meet it was!
The highlight of the day was Anna Black hitting not one, but TWO PR’s to put her career best at 11’ 3” in the Pole Vault! She barely missed the podium finishing 12th while also finishing 23rd in the High Jump.
Tessa finishes up her freshman season 21st in the 100 meter.
Tessa Renfrow finishes up her freshman season 21st in the 100 meter dash and 16th in the 200 meter dash!
Hannah Ferguson, Kylie Montgomery, Maggie Stivers, and Tessa Renfrow finish up their incredible season 18th in the 400 Meter Relay!
Also, a HUGE shoutout to Cody Teltow and Travis Conover for helping organize a police and fire truck es**rt for our girls on the way out of town this morning. So special and memories that will last a lifetime! 🧩

This year we want to start a new tradition that hopefully sticks for years to come, and we would LOVE if the community that has faithfully followed us all season long would join in! You all are a huge piece of our puzzle that we appreciate beyond words.
Next Friday, June 5th, some of our Lady Cubs will be heading to Indianapolis for the IHSAA State Meet and we’d love to send them off in style! We will be pulling out from the track at MCHS around 11:15-11:30. We’d love anyone and everyone to come and line Wilson Avenue from the MCS Admin Building to Clifty Drive at 11:00 to cheer them on as we leave the facility.
As the graphic says…bring signs, be loud, and be proud!
Please share this post if you see it to help us get the word out…all are welcome! See you there!! 🧩❤️

Anna Black receives the much anticipated call-back in the High Jump! This puts her going back to back years to the State Meet in both Pole Vault and High Jump. A truly incredible accomplishment that not many can say they’ve been able to do! We are so proud of Anna, all of our State Qualifiers and our entire team for this incredible year.

WHAT. A. NIGHT. 💥
The Lady Cubs travelled to Bloomington South tonight and came out with a 5th place finish as a team competing against some of the biggest dogs in our portion of the state! The first top 5 finish as a team since 2010, and only the eighth time since 1998. Highlights from the night ⬇️
⚫️The 400 Meter Relay team of Hannah Ferguson, Kylie Montgomery, Maggie Stivers and Tessa Renfrow broke their own school record with a blistering time of 48.47, racing to a 2nd Place and a spot at the IHSAA State Meet.
⚫️Tessa Renfrow raced her way to two 2nd Place finishes in the 100 Meter and 200 Meter Dash earning her way to a double bid at the IHSAA State Meet.
⚫️Anna Black jumped all over the place making it look easy…Vaulting her way to a 2nd Place finish and a spot at the IHSAA State Meet, as well as High Jumping to a 4th Place finish putting her in a great position for a possible call-back!
⚫️Maggie Stivers ran a phenomenal 200 Meter Dash final finishing 5th by a fraction of a lean at the finish line from 4th Place!
⚫️The 1600 Meter Relay team of Tayleigh Johnson, Scout Porter, Haley Ferguson and Tessa Renfrow ran their way to a 6th Place finish in an absolutely loaded field.

Sooooooo…about last night 😏
For the 10th time in school history and the first time in 13 years, your Lady Cubs brought home the Sectional Championship hardware…and what a night it was! Fighting off the lightning delay and muggy conditions, these ladies were impressive from start to finish. Our experience stepped up and did what veterans do, and our youth showed a lot of maturity in a high-pressure situation. A true team effort, and that’s what makes it that much sweeter!
We brought home 4 individual Sectional Titles as well as one Relay Title. In addition to that, we are taking 10 events onto the Regional in Bloomington next week!
What a time to be a Lady Cub!!
