In 2012, a semi-professional team emerged taking the name Huntsville Rockets to pay homage to the original Huntsville Rockets Football team.

Vision

Our Vision is to be the premier minor league football franchise that sets the standard for great football entertainment in the great city of Huntsville, AL In its inaugural season the Rockets won the NDFL Championship. They went on to win the 2012 BCS Semi Pro National Championship, defeating the Killeen Revolution (54-6). In 2013 the Huntsville Rockets had a similar journey but came up short, losing in the 2013 BCS Semi Pro National Championship to the Tennessee Crush (16-14). In 2014 the club finished with a 7-5 record but ownership restructuring left the team dormant in 2015. Now in 2016, under the leadership of a new owner and a new coaching staff, the Rockets are back and stronger than ever. They will be playing in the Gridiron developmental football league and tenaciously working toward winning another National Championship.
