Adaptive Movement Parkour

Adaptive Movement Parkour For more thorough information, please visit www.amparkour.com Our curriculum is broken into four levels.

At AMParkour, we teach a structured, progression based approach to learning the Art of Movement known as Parkour. Though the term movement is very general, the Parkour that was created by David Belle came with a series of fundamental movement styles and beginner techniques that should be trained and refined, before the practitioner develops his or her own personal style. These techniques took elem

ents from military obstacle course training, gymnastics, and fitness training to build a system devoted to efficiency of motion. More specifically, the goal of Parkour was to traverse a landscape, whether it be urban, natural, or anywhere in between, without the social constraints normally associated with the world around us. This path of efficiency takes into account the idea that the fastest way from point A to point B is a straight line, but also considers that the safety, skill, and mindset of the Traceur (a practitioner of Parkour) will affect the path. When students reach level 3, they can move into the intermediate class, where we start to teach basic Free Funning concepts, such as spins, flips, and other more creative movements. So if this is something you are interested in, come on down to AMParkour, where we live life without limitations!

One year of Mini Movers! 🎉

It’s been awesome watching so many little ones explore, play, climb, jump, balance, and build confidence with us over the past year.

Here’s to more movement, more play, and more adventures in Year Two!

Mini Movers is our introduction to parkour for ages 4–5.

Year Two, let’s go!!

Humans call it parkour. Freya just calls it keeping up. 🐕

Watching her follow Coach Devin across the obstacles shows how naturally animals read and navigate their environment: jumping, balancing, adjusting stride, choosing a path, and adapting in real time.

As humans, we often lose some of that comfort with movement as we get older. Obstacles become things to avoid instead of environments to explore.

That’s part of what parkour trains back into us: confidently navigating what’s in front of you, adapting when the path changes, and trusting your body to figure things out.

Freya makes it look natural.

Parkour gives us a way to practice it. 🐾

GET THE KIDS OFF THE SCREENS THIS SUMMER.

Our summer parkour training program is designed for kids who want to have fun, stay active, build confidence, learn new skills, and spend more time moving this summer in a positive environment.

Throughout the week, kids work on jumps, climbing, vaults, obstacle courses, games, teamwork, conditioning, and movement challenges inside our gym here in Manchester. It’s structured training mixed with a ton of fun and activity.
