⭐️ 9U Gold All-Stars Recap ⭐️

This group wrapped up a LONG but special All-Stars season with the opportunity to participate in the 9U Mustang World Series, held right here in Manhattan Beach! This group built an identity around strong defense and timely hitting with runners often in scoring position.

One of the biggest highlights came at the Newbury Park Tournament, where South Bay mercy-ruled two opponents, won a thrilling walk-off semifinal, and battled Westlake in a 10-inning championship game, falling just short, 10-9.

The team also captured the NCS Tournament Championship, defeating local travel teams Hit Factory and GBG on the same day to build momentum heading into the World Series where they finished third place. Time for a well needed break. Well done, 9U Gold!

9U White All-Stars Recap

Team Blanco crew had a fun and memorable summer baseball season. Their 12 player roster, made up mostly of first-time All-Stars, saw tremendous growth from the extra reps and built lasting friendships that will carry on for years to come.

The team was fortunate to have incredible support from South Bay families, who volunteered their time to create high-energy practices and festive game-day environments. Highlights of the summer included a memorable underdog run to the finals of the Irvine Tournament, championship rings from the Dana Point Tournament, and an epic battle against South Bay Green in the South Bay Classic.

Once tournament play concluded, they kept the baseball fun going with an intersquad wiffle ball game in Manhattan Beach that included siblings, along with sandlot-style scrimmages throughout the summer. Some boys simply couldn’t get enough baseball.

Congratulations to our South Bay 9U Gold Team on a great run at the Mustang 9U World Series!

After opening with a mercy rule win over Texas, South Bay earned a 3-1 comeback victory over West Zone finalist Placentia. Down 1-0 and being no-hit early, the team rallied behind to earn a spot in the winners bracket, placing third overall in the World Series.

One of the memorable moments was when Mexico pitcher, Pacheco, hit South Bay’s Will Meier with a pitch and immediately approached Will, put his arm around him and escorted him to first base. True sportsmanship 🫱🏼‍🫲🏽

The atmosphere was loud with crowds filled with our South Bay families and visitors cheering them on. Thank you to all who came out to support!

Congratulations to Tecolote Youth Baseball from San Diego, CA on an incredible championship run at the 9U Mustang World Series, allowing zero runs throughout the entire tournament!

South Bay Pony was proud to host the Mustang-9 World Series for the first time ever, as teams joined us from:

Many thanks to the visiting teams and families, the coaches, umpires and volunteers who made this event so special. From the organized tournament logistics, to the beautifully prepared Premier field and electric energy from the crowd, we were proud to welcome the baseball world to our beach town.

Special thanks to our friends at Pony Baseball headquarters in Washington, PA for making this event possible! And to Scott Champagne for bringing the World Series to the South Bay, Brad Spahr for directing all of the local tournament operations, and the many volunteers who made the event possible, including Tuan Tran, Dave Whatley, Lesley Lyon, Amy Ricevuto, Dana & Kelly Rosenberg, Andy Bischoff & Shane Donahue.
