Firstly, we want to thank you all for the outpouring support that you have all provided to support the numerous relief efforts that immediately started following the tragedy that hit our community on January 9, 2022, taking the life of 17 individuals. The impact of the five-alarm fire caused by lack of adequate heat in the Twin Park Towers building is devastating, and will forever stain our hearts.We will always remember those that lost their lives, and all individuals impacted by the fire. will continue advocating on their behalf, so that no one has to go through what they have gone through.

As you are all aware, the GYO raised over $1 million dollars in four days, with the outpouring of community and national support. While we work to distribute the funds to impacted families and individuals, we are dedicated to making the process equitable. To that end, we worked to develop a criteria that will be used as the standard for distributing funds. Above is an official statement from The Gambian Youth Organization regarding the distribution of the funds raised.

We thank and appreciate you all for your support, and welcome you all to join us on the continued advocacy efforts on behalf of the impacted families.
