🇺🇳 Eighty years ago, the world chose to turn the page on the horrors of World War II by signing the Charter of the United Nations in San Francisco—marking the birth of the UN and a renewed commitment to peace and cooperation.

🕐 Today, 24 October 2025, celebrations are taking place around the world, including at UN headquarters in New York, to commemorate this historic event and celebrate our shared noble mission.

⚽️ The UN Staff Football Team has partnered with the UN Staff Union to organize a football tournament. To all NY-based colleagues: see you later on the pitch!

‼️ IMPORTANT ALERT! Dear football friends, the UN Staff Football Club is excited to inform you that a mini-tournament will take place at the UN Secretariat on Friday 24 October from 1 to 3 pm at the occasion of the .

The tournament is open to current UN staff members, UN volunteers, UN interns and UN Mission staff members only.

‼️ Hello everyone, Nations Tournament 2026 - indoor futsal alert!

⚽️ The UN Staff Football Club has partnered with Almo NYC and various NYC schools to organize the biggest international futsal tournament in NYC.

✅ Registration is now open for teams of up to 10 players, each representing a country (which can also be different from your own)!

🗓️ The tournament will have men’s and women’s groups and will be held from 10 January to 15 February 2026 (weekends only).

🏆 This is more than a tournament! It’s a global celebration through the game we love. ❤️

Congratulations to Europe+ on a fantastic victory of the United Nations 2025 Fall League!

They succeed the Russian Mission, UN Cross Pillar and UNJSPF (twice) in the UN leagues palmares since 2023.

On Saturday, 28 June, the UN Staff Football Club participated in the 60th edition of jUNe Day, an initiative led by the United Nations Association of the United States of America - Southwest Connecticut and the Town of Westport. Throughout the day, UN staffers and their families joined the local community in a series of events, games and initiatives that promoted the UN spirit and mission.

This year, our UN Football Team played vs Westport Knights, losing 6-4 in a well-fought match. Thanks to the team and Westport community for your warm hospitality!

⚽ The 2025 World Football Day event will be held at the United Nations General Assembly Hall in New York on Thursday 22 May 2025 from 11:00 to 12:00 pm (New York time).

Last year, the General Assembly passed Resolution A/RES/78/281, proclaiming 25 May as World Football Day (WFD) each year, acknowledging "the global reach of football and its impact in various spheres, including commerce, peace and diplomacy, and recognizing that football creates a space for cooperation."
