Drowning prevention is not seasonal and is not limited to swim time and backyard pools. Please read the email that I received from a prior swim parent about one of the students I skilled in 2024. This incident thankfully ended up being an inconvenience:

"Today we took a trip to the Houston Zoo. We were wandering around the zoo and we heard what sounded like [Child] falling into some bushes. We didn’t go running over right away because toddlers fall down 400 times a day and he can pick himself back up! Then we heard him yell “DAD! HELP!” and my husband went over. He discovered that what we thought was bushes was actually a marsh and underneath all the green was water. [Child] fell into the water, turned himself around to float, and once he righted himself started yelling for help. He quickly got [Child] out and we redressed him. He was entirely unbothered by the whole event, he was far more upset that he couldn’t walk around the zoo anymore because his sneakers were soaking wet and I didn’t bring extra shoes 😂

I just wanted to tell you that your instruction and commitment to saving kids from drowning worked today. Because of you and our current instructor today’s events are a funny anecdote and not a horrible accident. I didn’t expect to run into a water hazard at the zoo, never mind way away from the water exhibits. You never know what can happen!! I’m attaching a picture of where he fell into, the hole in the middle of the picture near the edge of the sidewalk is where he fell in."

As I wrap up the summer 2025 session this week, I am sending a big shout-out to Erik - the most under recognized "employee" of ISR Alyssa Woulfe LLC. None of this would go so smoothly without him. To my handsome pool boy, expert frog catcher, valet parker, traffic director, artificial wall architect, drone photographer, understanding co-parent for ISR girls trips, sounding board when I am in need of another perspective about some aspect of small business ownership, invested cheerleader for my students always asking how each of them is doing and most supportive husband for me pursuing this challenging and rewarding passion. You take on all other duties as assigned for me and I need to get you on payroll ;)
