Happy Monday 🤍

I have to remind myself of this lately….just because my progress is slower doesn’t mean I’m not making progress.

I am.

I’m getting stronger. I’m slowly losing fat. I’m staying consistent. I’m fueling my body. I’m moving every day. I’m putting in the work.

And in a world where quick results are everywhere, sometimes you have to remind yourself that sustainable progress was never supposed to happen overnight.

I’m not against GLP-1s at all. I think they can be an incredible tool. But they’re still a tool and regardless of what tool someone uses, the habits MATTER.

It can be hard to work your butt off, train consistently, eat well, and watch someone else lose 10 pounds in what feels like the blink of an eye.

Especially my postpartum girlies, when your body is already asking so much of you.

But I keep reminding myself: I’m not chasing the fastest result. I’m chasing the result I can MAINTAIN.

I want strength.
I want better habits.
I want longevity.
I want to know that what I’m building is something I can KEEP

So if your progress feels slower than everyone else’s right now, keep going.

There are still plenty of us out here doing the hard, boring, consistent work every single day and it’s working, I promise!

Slow progress is still progress. 🤍

TESTIMONY THURSDAY🗣️🗣️

Meet Abbie and read her testimony! She and her transformation are truly inspiring!

In March of 2020, we were sent home from school due to COVID-19, and I happened upon a post about Jennarate Fitness. I had never been someone that spent much time working out, but knew that I needed something and currently had more time at home. I decided to jump into it, and I am so glad that I did!

Over six years later, working out has become a habit, and I actually look forward to it (most days). I consistently work out 6 days/week even on days when I don’t really want to. That’s where the discipline comes in. I’ve had my “literal” ups and downs throughout this journey, but continue to work towards a goal of being the healthiest and best version of myself. I stopped drinking pop over 2 years ago. My food choices are healthier with a focus on a proper balance including protein, and I actually find myself craving water.

I’ve discovered that the scale only tells part of the story, and pictures and measurements don’t lie. I am stronger, more toned and was recently able to drop a blood pressure medication. My journey is not complete, and it will continue with the lifestyle changes that I’ve incorporated into my daily routines thanks to Jenna and Jennarate Fitness!

I just finished my first HIIT workout in about two months.

During my pregnancy, I recorded a lot of strength workouts. And while I truly love strength training and know how beneficial it is, my body has always responded best to HIIT.

I’m not going to lie… this workout humbled me.

My strength wasn’t there. My endurance was nowhere close to what it used to be. I took more breaks than I wanted to, and honestly, it was discouraging.

If you’ve followed me for a while, you know I’ve typically bounced back pretty quickly after my pregnancies. This one has been different.

Even though I ate well and worked out six days a week throughout my pregnancy, I gained more weight than I have before, held onto a lot more water, and my body has just needed more time.

I know I need to give myself grace. But if I’m being honest, it’s hard not to compare this recovery to my previous ones. It’s hard knowing I spent years working so hard before getting pregnant… and now I have to build it all back again.

But maybe that’s exactly why I wanted to share this.

If you’re a mom who’s feeling like you’re starting over after pregnancy, I want you to know you’re not alone. I see you because I’m living it too.

This season won’t last forever. The workouts will get easier. Your strength will come back. Your endurance will improve.

Just don’t quit.

One day you’ll look back at these hard first workouts and be so thankful you kept showing up, even when it felt impossible. 🤍 💪🏼
