Jeff Loken, Dakota City, age 70, stated: .

Since 2010, I have participated in the Twin Lakes Triathlon almost every year. The event is so well organized, and the volunteers do a great job with traffic control. The participants have a wide range of abilities, and the spectators are supportive of everyone. It’s an ideal triathlon for anyone who wants to compete for the first time. I have met people who use this event as part of their training for longer events.

I survived cancer 13 years ago and one of the participants that I talked to was also a survivor. He and I agreed that we want positive life experiences like the triathlon to celebrate life.

Every year, our 70+ volunteers plus the staff at the Bible Camp volunteer at this event to not only keep the participants safe but also to cheer them on. Congrats to all the award winners and, most of all, congrats to all the participants who finished the race. We had many first-time participants and seeing their joy at finishing was inspirational.
The sponsors’ financial commitment helps to offset the fixed costs of putting on the events (chip timing, swim caps, shirts, medals, awards, and food) plus it maximizes the charitable component and raises more money to support the ongoing work at the Twin Lakes Bible Camp. Please support these businesses and express your thanks for their donations and those of the individual contributors.
