We want to thank everybody for the great summer we've had here at Chippewa Landing! It was a great year for us and we look forward to seeing everybody again next summer!

Please note that going forward now through September we will be open weekends and and by appointment only on weekdays. Please call or email us if you want to arrange an autumn trip with us. Thanks again and we look forward to helping you get on the water.

This Saturday July 25th we are out of rafts. If you do not have one reserved currently we can't guarantee that we will have one for you. We will have a cancelation list for those still hoping to reserve one. As of right now we do still have tubes, kayaks, and canoes available for that day. Trees are starting to pop and the river is waking up!

With the water levels starting to recede we got out there and had our first river cleanup day of the year today and it was very successful! Pulled out 2 picnic tables, 3 docks, 2 pallets, and a couple buckets full of trash. It felt good getting it out and cleaning things up before the season really kicks in.

Big thanks to Stan Troxel and Zander Johnigan for doing the dirty work!

If you’ve ever thought about helping out, remember we offer free kayaks or canoes to anyone willing to do some river cleanup on weekdays. Come float, do some good, and leave the river better than you found it!

April showers brought record flooding to the Manistee this year. At Chippewa Landing we saw the highest water in memory.

The office and storage buildings were waist-deep, the Point and Island sites were completely underwater, and Rick Walsh was ferrying us around the parking lot in his boat.

For a week or so things were pretty touch and go. But we are very thankful... The campground came through in pretty good shape, especially compared to some of our neighbors and surrounding communities who weren't as fortunate.

Over the last couple weeks the water has gone down and it's been all hands on deck here getting things cleaned up and salvaging what we can. We still have a good amount of work ahead of us, but our crew has been going hard in order to get ready for the season. Thanks to their hard work we are ready to open up with our normal spring hours.

- We are now open on weekends and by appointment for the month of May.
- 7 days a week from Memorial Day thru Labor Day.

So if you've been thinking about a canoe, kayak or raft trip down the Manistee now is the time to make those reservations.

This next month is prime time for multi-day river trips and our summer weekends are already starting to fill up.

Summer is starting to wind down, but some of my favorite river days of the year are still ahead of us. If you enjoy fewer people, fewer bugs, cooler temps, and brighter colors late Summer and Fall are perfect.

That being said we do have to limit our hours and trip availability going forward. Weekend operations will be normal, but weekdays we are going to require a reservation. So give us a call or email to reserve your trip! Thanks for understanding and have a great rest of the season.
