RISE OR DIE: THE UPRISING BEGINS AT THE LAIR

Dragon’s Lair Axe & Tap is teaming up again with Nemer Fieger and Focus Features to offer our community access to a special advance screening of THE UPRISING, starring Andrew Garfield.

Set during England’s historic Peasants’ Revolt, the film follows ordinary people who take up arms against tyranny and fight for justice. Rebellion, courage, survival and medieval steel make this one feel tailor-made for the Lair.

To attend, send us a DM with your name and the number of tickets you are requesting. We will confirm your place on our guest list and send your ticket or pair of tickets directly to you.

Tickets will be distributed in the order requests are received. Please do not consider your spot reserved until you receive confirmation from us.

Confirmed guests must check in with the screening representative before 6:15 PM for guaranteed admission. After 6:15, tickets revert to general admission and seating is no longer guaranteed.

Ryan finished fifth at the World Championships. Just months later, he won the Ironside Open, defeating the world's number one and number two throwers along the way.

Currently ranked third in the world, Ryan is one of only FOUR throwers in WKTL history to reach 40 successful killshots in a single knife season, and the ONLY thrower to reach that milestone this season.

Ryan, congratulations from your entire Lair family. Watching your hard work turn into accomplishments like these has been something special.

Time to get those Season 3 leagues in. We've got marathons lined up at Dragon's Lair Axe & Tap, with room to add more if enough throwers are interested.

THIS WEEK

Tonight, September 1: Knife marathon at 6 p.m.

Tomorrow, September 2: Knife Duals marathon.

Thursday, September 3: We can add a Big Axe marathon with enough signups.

LABOR DAY - MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 7
Hatchet starts at 10 a.m., followed by Hatchet Duals, then Big Axe. Come for one or make a day of it!

SEPTEMBER 8-13 - TELL ME WHAT YOU NEED

The goal is to help everyone close out Season 3 and take their shot at qualifying for the 10th World Championship this April in Appleton, Wisconsin, representing the best of the 2026 season.

The Lair is Minnesota's only venue where you can learn from professional axe and knife throwers who have competed at the World Championships, including several who have been there five or more times.

With 30+ interactive projected target games, axe throwing, knife throwing, great food and drinks, there is plenty of time to practice before our Season 4 leagues begin October 11 and 12.

Either one makes for a great day. But if the Fair or Ren Fest is dinner, Dragon's Lair is dessert.

2023: Adler. 2026: WICING. Dragon’s Lair Is Back at the Design Table.

Three years ago, Adler came to Dragon’s Lair and trusted our throwing community to help collaborate on the creation of the Rheinland throwing hatchet, a design that is now being sold to throwers around the world.

We are incredibly proud to share that Dragon’s Lair has once again been asked to help influence the next generation of throwing equipment. This time, WICING has invited us to evaluate its current axe lineup and work with their team as they explore the development of a true competition-level throwing axe.

WICING has already done an impressive job building a broad collection of recreational throwing axes and tomahawks. Our role is to bring the perspective that comes from thousands of hours on the lanes. Our professional throwers, amateur competitors, Axe Masters and everyday customers are putting these axes through real-world testing and providing feedback on balance, handle geometry, blade profile and coverage, pe*******on, weight distribution, durability, safety and overall throwing performance. We will also be providing recommendations on how their recreational products can continue to improve while helping them understand what separates a fun throwing axe from equipment designed to compete at the highest levels of the sport.

What makes this especially meaningful to us is that WICING did not simply ask one person for an opinion. They chose Dragon’s Lair because of the depth and quality of the throwing community that calls this place home. The feedback coming from our accomplished competitors, developing throwers and first-time recreational customers gives them perspectives from nearly every level of the sport.

We are tremendously proud of the reputation Dragon’s Lair and our throwers have built. Axe throwing is much more than a business to us. It is a sport we genuinely love, and whenever we have an opportunity to help manufacturers build better equipment, improve the throwing experience and advance competitive axe throwing, we are going to embrace it.
