💬 Confidence Quote Wednesday

Confidence doesn’t always look like having it all figured out. Sometimes, it’s simply trusting yourself enough to take the next step.

You don’t have to know exactly where every step will lead. Confidence grows each time you try something new, move through uncertainty, and remind yourself that you are capable of learning along the way.

Take the next step. You may surprise yourself with how far you can go. 💛

🇺🇸 Happy Labor Day! 🇺🇸

Most Mondays are filled with work responsibilities and the daily routines that keep life moving forward. But once a year, this Monday is set aside to pause and recognize the hard work behind it all.

Today, we honor the dedication, determination, and ingenuity of American workers, past and present. From the factories and farms that built our nation to the laboratories, workshops, businesses, and small enterprises driving innovation today, American workers have always turned bold ideas into real progress.

Labor Day is a celebration of the people whose skill, creativity, and perseverance have helped shape the American story. Their work has powered our communities, strengthened our economy, and inspired generations to dream bigger, build better, and move our country forward.

May you enjoy a well-deserved day of rest, time with the people you love, and a moment to appreciate all that American hard work and innovation make possible.

Wishing everyone a safe, relaxing, and proudly American Labor Day! ❤️🤍💙

🌿 Sunday Steps of Grace

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart.”
Jeremiah 1:5

Before you ever took your first breath, God knew you. He created you with intention, set you apart and placed gifts within you that are meant to shine in this world.

Being set apart does not mean being perfect. You may stumble, make mistakes or question whether you are capable. But those moments do not disqualify you. God can use every misstep to teach you, strengthen you and guide you closer to the person He created you to be.

You do not need to place the pressure of perfection on yourself. Simply keep walking with Him, trusting that He will shape your steps and use your life in ways you may not yet understand.

Today, remember this: You are known. You are chosen. You are His. And your life has purpose. 💗

🇺🇸 Do You Remember “Thriller” on Main Street? 🇺🇸

During Marengo Settlers’ Days in 2024, our community came together for a fun and unforgettable “Thriller” dance and flash mob on Main Street. It was so much fun watching dancers, families, friends and community members learn the routine and surprise the crowd!

Now we’re doing it again! This time with an all-American, patriotic theme as we celebrate the USA during Marengo Settlers’ Days 2026: “Star-Spangled Spactacular-An All-American Affair!”

If you remember dancing “Thriller” with us, you won’t want to miss this one! And if you missed it last time, this is your chance to be part of the fun.

💡Parent Tip Friday

Instead of asking, “How was dance class?” try asking a question that invites your dancer to share a little more!

✨ What was your favorite part of class today?
✨ Did you learn a new step or movement?
✨ Was anything challenging?
✨ What made you feel proud?
✨ Did something make you laugh?
✨ Can you teach me one thing you learned?

That last question is one of our favorites! When children have the opportunity to teach you, it helps reinforce what they learned while giving them a chance to feel proud and take the lead.

A simple change in the question can open the door to a wonderful conversation! 💗

💬 Confidence Quote Wednesday

Be kind to yourself today. Speak words of encouragement over your heart, focus on the good, and try to see yourself the way God sees you: loved, beautiful, worthy, and wonderfully made.💗

You are not defined by your mistakes, your difficult days, or the things you wish you could change. You are God’s beautiful creation, and there is no one else exactly like you.

Today, choose positive thoughts, give yourself a little grace, and remember just how wonderfully made you truly are. 💕

“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” Psalm 139:14

🔬 Dance Lab Tuesday: Connect Your Brain to Your Movement!

When children are learning to read, they often sound out the words in their heads. When solving a math problem, they may quietly talk themselves through each step. Dancers can use this same kind of brain connection!

Instead of only watching the teacher and copying the movement, dancers can attach words to what their bodies are doing. A dancer might name the steps, repeat the rhythm, count the music, or quietly say a short movement cue.

This gives the brain another way to process and remember the skill. The dancer is not only seeing and doing the movement, but also hearing and thinking through it.

See it. Say it. Do it.

Over time, the words become quieter as the movement becomes more familiar and settles into muscle memory.

At Joy in Motion, we are not just teaching dancers to follow. We are helping them understand movement, make connections, and become more independent learners.

Where Movement Meets Meaning. 🩷

🌿 Sunday Steps of Grace 🌿

“The God who walks in my direction when the whole world walks away.”

There is something so comforting about knowing we have a God who never turns His back on us. When our hearts are hurting, when we feel misunderstood, or when the world feels a little lonely, He moves closer. He gently reminds us that we are seen, held, and deeply loved.

Whatever this week brings, may you feel the warmth of His presence beside you. You are never walking alone.

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34:18
