John Aaron Lovett worked hard in his last match yesterday in Witcita, Kansas at the NAIA Men’s National Wreatling Championship meet. He’s a college senior and he has given us many years of excitement and joy watching him work his magic on the mat! Thank you John. We’re very proud of you!

If there’s anyone out there who would like to be the admin on this page, please PM me. Once John graduates this Spring, wrestling is done with us on this page.

John Lovett won 3rd place at State this weekend and is headed to Wichita next week for national competition. We are so proud of him! Go Reinhardt!

Part Two: With a full tummy of concession food and desperately needing a short nap, I suddenly realized that the energy in the crowd was intensifying as the number of wrestlers dwindled and First Place CHAMPS had begun to emerge! Go Pirates!!! Bring home the loot!!!

Final day of GHSA Wrestling and the Pirates are on the move! We passed their bus on the way to Macon, and I swear, the thing was rocking! Can't wait to get started this evening. Looks like dinner at the Coliseum...

Part Two: The morning began early and with much Pirate enthusiasm. Although some matches lasted longer than others, the wrestlers were well matched, the crowd was intense, and the electricity could be felt throughout the arena. And as the morning melted away and lunch descended upon us, we satisfied our hunger with hot dogs and popcorn, while our brave Pirates continued to fight...

And so the big match arrives! State GHSA Wrestling Finals began on 2/10/21, and our Pike County Pirates were fired up and ready to wage war. Here's what I got on Day One.
