East Cobb Edge '13

And just like that, 10u softball is done. These girls put up a 55-25-2 record over the fall 23-Spring 24 seasons finishing it this past week at the USSSA Gulf Coast National Championship in Gulf Shores, AL where they played hard into the 3rd and final day. As this team disbands and the girls go their separate ways, it will be a season that they should all be very proud of. Hard work pays off, and the girls showed great progress as they moved from GSA to Titans to USFA to USSSA and picked up a bunch of hardware along the way. Let’s go Edge!!

After our team participated at all of the Opening Day activities, our players are ready to play games at the USSSA Gulf Coast National Championship, GA on Monday (7/1). We had a blast today at the opening ceremonies for the USSSA Gulf Coast World Series. Great gift exchange with the Blue Angels from Mississippi, and a fun pin trade session and parade. Let’s go Edge!!

What a finish in Gainesville yesterday at the USFA Swing into Summer Tournament. Fist off, it was HOT 🥵 🔥!! We had an early start with first pitch at 8:30am, and made it all the way to the Silver Bracket Championship wrapping just before 11:00pm. It was a special one as we were matched up against our East Cobb Edge ‘14 sisters for the final. We came out Silver Bracket Champions. 1-1-1 in Pool Play, and 2-0 in Bracket play with too many highlights to mention as we came from behind to tie our last pool game and win our first bracket game. Special thanks to Mya, Emma, and Kieran for playing with us yesterday as we were down a few girls. Great job ladies!!!

Also, Happy Father’s Day to all the Edge Dads out there who support these girls both on and off the field.

The USFA Summer Sizzler lived up to its name yesterday as our girls battled all day in the first real heat of the Spring Season. 2-1 in pool play put us as the Number 3 seed in the Gold Bracket where we fell short in the championship game to give us a Runner Up Finish. Long day with too many good plays to count. We were missing a few players yesterday and we could not be more thankful for Emma and Carli for joining us.

What a day yesterday for our girls down on the south side of Atlanta. We played in our first USSSA tournament and made it to the 10u championship game coming up short in a hard fought 8-5 loss. 6 games total on the day with one break the entire day. The girls battled and left it all on the field. Best part of the day was avenging our two pool losses with back to back wins against the same teams in bracket play. Rest up today and back to work on Tuesday. Let’s Go Edge!!!
