ACT Women's Self Defense will be hosting a BACK TO SCHOOL CLASS on Thursday, July 31st. If you are interested, please visit www.actselfdefense.com to sign up.
The class will be held at the Marietta Martial Arts location in East Cobb starting at 7:00pm.

Chi Budo Kwon Family, please keep Sabom Chris Markman and his family in your prayers. They tragically lost their daughter this past Friday. The service will be held in Savannah this Sunday. If you are in the area and would like to attend, please contact me for the time and address. Our hearts and prayers go out to Chris and Sharon. 

Happy Holidays to everyone. Wanted to let the Chi Budo Kwon family and friends know we will be having our annual board breaking class this Thursday, December 15th starting at the regular Class time. We invite all past blackbelts to join us in making firewood for the coming winter. All past students are invited to drop by and watch as well. Afterward, Kwang Jang Nim and I will head over to the House of Ming for some dinner and anyone who wants to join us is invited. If you plan on breaking with us, and need the information on the boards, email me, or message me and I'll send it to you.

I wanted to let everyone know we are having class tonight! However, with the rapid spread of the Omicron variant we will be mandating that all students who join us for training will need to wear a mask. I'm not a fan of training with one, but it's either that or we go back to virtual training, which I felt was even less effective.
When you arrive at class tonight, please use hand sanitizer at the door. If you are feeling unwell, for the sake of the rest of our class, stay home and get better.

We look forward to getting back up to speed in 2022 after a great holiday break. Come join us.

We had a great time last class working on our board breaking, and even had our newest white belts making firewood by the end of class!!
We won't be having class tonight or Thursday (12/20 or 12/23) but we will be back in class next Monday, 12/27. We will have some fun with material we don't usually work on with most of the class: advanced level kicks, Arnis Cane work, maybe some basic Wing Chun, a little small circle Jui-Jitsu, and bring your sparring gear, if we have time, we can spar as well. We'll make it a fun class for those who can make it for the last class of the year.
All of our previous students are welcome to join if you are in town for the holidays and available. We'll start class at 6:45 and go to 8:30ish. Drop by and say hi, or stay to train with us. We hope to see you.

It is with a heavy heart I pass along the news that the Chi Budo Kwon Family has lost one of it's brothers. Tyler Drury, 1st Dan Black Belt, passed away last week. Tyler joined our youth classes when we were still training at the Lutheran Church of the Incarnation more than 25 years ago. Tyler had an indomitable spirit, and was always ready to train hard! He was an AAU Junior National Champion in Forms and Sparring and a great example to the students who trained with him.
Please keep his family in your prayers.

Happy 70th Birthday to Hwang Jang Nim!! What a fantastic birthday sparring class with all our blackbelts who showed up to give him a good birthday gauntlet. We will have some video posted to show he still has it.
