Barbara brings more than 40 years of experience in nursing, healthcare administration, and community health, along with a lifelong passion for serving children, families, and underserved communities.

Her connection to Above the Net goes back to the very beginning—as a founding donor, volunteer at our first Tennispalooza event, and tutor in our Learning Program at the Shaquille O'Neal Boys & Girls Club. Now, in retirement, she is continuing her commitment to youth by helping guide our mission as a member of our Board of Directors.

We are honored to have Barbara's leadership, experience, and heart for service as we continue preparing youth for life through tennis, education, and character development.

BOAST, the original American tennis brand, has a history of donating and sponsoring tennis apparel for charitable organizations and community events.

Our NJTL chapters have a wish list this Christmas in July. Every donation helps provide resources that keep kids learning, growing, and playing.

Every donation benefits the Joe Dorn 1st Serve Fund, which provides financial support to low- and no-cost afterschool tennis programs throughout Georgia. These programs do much more than teach tennis—they help young people develop confidence, leadership skills, sportsmanship, and healthy habits in a positive and supportive environment.

We are excited to announce plans for the 2026 Georgia Tennis Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony presented by MCBANK, where we will honor the Class of 2026: Ansley Cargill & Bobby Reynolds.

In addition, Manny Guillen will receive the prestigious Dan Magill “Impact” Award.

The ceremony will take place on Saturday evening August 15th, starting at 5:30 PM at the Marietta Country Club.

🎾 Congratulations to the 2026 Georgia Positive Athlete Tennis Winners! 🎾

USTA Georgia is proud to partner with the Positive Athlete Foundation to recognize high school student-athletes who demonstrate outstanding character, leadership, resilience, and a commitment to their communities.

This year’s tennis scholarship recipients are:
🏆 Miley Young (Fitzgerald High School College & Career Academy)
🏆 Jaden Turner (Central Gwinnett High School)

Each student received a $1,000 scholarship to support their academic journey. The awards were presented at a ceremony held at the Georgia State Capitol, where USTA Georgia's Amanda Boudreau was on hand to celebrate their achievements.

Congratulations to Miley, Jaden, and all of this year's nominees for being positive role models both on and off the court! 💙🍑
