Character building, owning horses is not all hop on and go. You have to put in the work, whether there's a severe heat advisory or a severe cold front. There's always something to get done. And I may have bribed them with Amish ice cream.

7am lessons and then a light trail ride, always planning ahead with purpose. We have a show coming up, so we are helping our horses to thrive in the heat and humidity by gradually introducing them to the challenge. Like mastering everything, it's all about finding victory in moderation.

I love teaching my students the importance of proper horse care, especially when it comes to extreme heat and the proper way to cool down a horse. Bristol is doing a wonderful job of taking care of her boy Rebel and all our other horses at Cherry Creek Equestrian!

The art of being patient is not an easy thing when you ride horses or own horses. We all want it right now, but by rushing it, you're losing all the slow and important skills. Don't worry about other riders, stay in your lane, so you can pass the people who are trying to be in your lane.

Sometimes, hitting reset allows you to lay a stronger foundation, ensuring a safe and confident start.

Preparing for trailer loading! Taking care of this task from home gives you a crucial advantage. Every rider should be prepared to load and unload their horse in any situation, and mastering this skill can be a huge relief. There's no feeling quite like confidently guiding your horse onto or off the trailer safely. Great job Kristin Bailey!
