Leucine and essential amino acids appear to stimulate human muscle protein synthesis primarily by activating the mTOR signalling pathway. How human muscle cells sense an increase in leucine and/or essential amino acids to activate mTOR signalling is currently unknown. However, recent work suggests that the kinases hVps34 and MAP43K may be involved. Leucine-enriched essential amino acid ingestion, in combination with resistance exercise in some cases, may be a useful intervention to promote mTOR signalling and protein synthesis in an effort to counteract a variety of muscle wasting conditions

Values are a person’s core beliefs about what they consider most important. Usually, values guide behavior. They are highly relevant to establishing our individuality and helping explain our actions.

For example, a person who values health is more likely to develop daily rituals and long-term habits that enhance health and general well-being than people who do not. People who consider family to be an important value are more likely to devote extra time with family members and promoting family relationships.

The ENS the only part of the peripheral nervous system that contains extensive neural circuits that are capable of local, autonomous function. The ENS has extensive, two-way, connections with the central nervous system (CNS), and works in concert with the CNS to control the digestive system in the context of local and whole body physiological demands. Because of its extent and its degree of autonomy, the ENS has been referred to as a second brain.

Mental toughness isn’t about getting an incredible dose of inspiration or courage. It’s about building the daily habits that allow you to stick to a schedule and overcome challenges and distractions over and over again.
Mentally tough people don’t have to be more courageous, more talented, or more intelligent… just more consistent. Mentally tough people develop systems that help them focus on the important stuff regardless of how many obstacles life puts in front of them. It’s their habits that form the foundation of their mental beliefs and ultimately set them apart.

Vitamin and mineral supplements can’t replace a healthy diet, but a general multivitamin may help if your diet is inadequate or where there is already a well-supported rationale for you to take one. If you feel you could be lacking in certain vitamins and minerals, it is better to look at changing your diet and lifestyle first, rather than reaching for supplements.🥩🍳🍌🧠🍎🍓🫐🍍🫁🥑🥓🍗🍯🫀

The manufactured form of trans fat, known as partially hydrogenated oil, can be found in a variety of food products, including:
• Commercial baked goods, such as cakes, cookies and pies
• Shortening
• Microwave popcorn
• Frozen pizza
• Refrigerated dough, such as biscuits and rolls
• Fried foods, including french fries, doughnuts and fried chicken
• Nondairy coffee creamer
• Stick margarine

Trans fats are so unhealthy that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has prohibited food manufacturers from adding the major source of artificial trans fats to foods and beverages. Several countries and several cities in the United States have limited or banned the use of trans fats.

Healthy cholesterol level varies from person to person. No matter what the doctor tells you, there is no scientific evidence that total cholesterol of everyone must not cross the level of 200 mg/dL (milligrams per deciliter), and LDL must be below 100 mg/dL. In addition, it will not tell much about the risk of heart disease. If you are diagnosed with too high cholesterol on the basis of lipid profile, you should get more detailed info, especially when you have family history of cardiovascular disease. Initially, you can ask for LipoProfile NMR, which focuses on small LDL cholesterol particles.

➡️Large LDL cholesterol particles are not that toxic. Only small density of LDL particles can cause a problem as they can squeeze through arteries. They can cause inflammation and damage if they oxidize. National Lipid Association (NLA) and other groups are moving their focus to LDL number rather than LDL and total cholesterol to determine the risk of heart disease. But it is still yet to reach the mainstream. Along with it, these tests can give better check up of risk of heart disease than total level of cholesterol.
